KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

Gathered requirements, created user stories, and managed the conversion of SunTrust Bank payroll cardholder data to the NetSpend database.  SunTrust has over 600,000 cardholder accounts with balances totaling $12M.

 

Designed, owned and managed a worldwide patch management system with 1,000+ users.  The application facilitated timely and accurate communications on patch status between internal organizations and external customers, and was praised as highly useful and dependable by IBM Customer Support Engineers.

 

Following Agile and Scrum, managed and successfully implemented the integration with the Sales Tax Office (STO) software, which made Assurant Field Asset Services (AFAS) compliant with all state Sales Tax requirements by charging clients Sales Tax based upon the state where a property resides.

Software Project Manager Consultant, International Gaming Technology (IGT), Texas Lottery (Contractor)

Plan and manage the iterative software development activities for the Texas State Lottery’s mobile application.

·   Created and maintain the software development Microsoft Project Plan that is in alignment with the high-level schedule for the entire project.

·   Maintain the project’s overall Project Plan, and manage budget and resource allocations.

·   Plan the content for each sprint based upon resource allocations, development estimates, and internal and external dependencies.

·   Conduct daily Scrum stand-up meetings to determine development progress and identify impediments.  Resolve impediments so development can continue.

·   Responsible for managing the communication and interaction between all organizations to release the first version of a completely new system to be used in Clinics nationwide.

·   Managed various projects that span multiple applications currently under development, including reviewing and determining settings for over 300 SmartFiles to stand up a clean environment for demos, sales, and Alpha testing; standardizing the display of all search results across all 13 applications for consistency; and documenting all Patient Safety Risks identified for the core system.

·   Performed Scrum Master duties for three development teams, facilitating all Scrum meetings, addressing blockers, and assisting the team in order to meet sprint commitments.  Worked closely with the Team Leads of these teams, standing in for them when needed.

 

ASSURANT FIELD ASSET SERVICES (AFAS), Austin, TXJun 2013 – Apr 2014

Senior IT Project Manager, Assurant Project Management Office (PMO)

Managed multiple web and infrastructure software development projects using Agile.

·   Administered the use of Agile and Scrum throughout the Development organization, and ensured consistent application of these methodologies.  As the department’s CSM, scheduled and facilitated Scrum activities.  Used TFS to manage the backlog, sprints, and tasks; and generate the burn-down chart to determine velocity.

o   Managed a multi-phased project to completely re-architect and rewrite AFAS’s systems and applications to be more cohesive and efficient in order to handle projected future growth.  After being assigned to the project, quickly created a Project Charter and Project Plan to get the project on track since all phases of the project were being executed simultaneously.

·   Managed the Fifth Third Remediation project, and selected by the executive team for an award for dedication and quickly delivering all required documentation and responses to the client.  As a result of this effort, Fifth Third had indicated that they would like to continue their relationship with AFAS.

·   Successfully managed development of several new features and enhancements to the FAStrack application (the company’s main web application for all pre-foreclosure work) using Agile.

 

NETSPEND, Austin, TXJan 2012 – Jun 2013

Senior Project Manager, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)

Managed 5-10 projects, including enterprise application development (web, back-end, financial, mobile phone app), IT Operations, and bank integration projects, as well as a long-term project to convert bank payroll cardholder data to a centralized NetSpend database.

·   Assigned to manage the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) payroll card integration project two months before deployment of their application development requirements.

o   Quickly identified gaps in requirements, and completely rewrote and expanded all of the user stories to provide a complete and accurate picture of all development work needed.

o   Reviewed code with developer (Java, PL, and SQL) to understand limitations of customer’s requirement so we could determine a solution.

·   Managed projects through all phases of the IT project life cycle using Agile.  Worked with the .Net development team daily to deliver SunTrust and RBS bank requirements, and payroll card program configurations.  Created report Specification Documents for several metrics and banking reports.  Used JIRA for requirement and defect management.
